This is a continuation of our commercial water design series, crafted to inspire your future projects which may require creating a specific atmosphere using water design elements.
“Water’s water and that’s why it’s beautiful” ~Alberto Caeiro
Whether in a home, business, or public space, water features can create an atmosphere, craft a unique setting, and set the mood.
A Peaceful Atmosphere
Water elements have the distinctive ability to generate feelings of well being and tranquility with the use of stilled bodies of water or gently moving water with soft sound emissions. You are likely to find these features in reflecting pools, water walls, small streams, and runnels.
A Charged Atmosphere
Water can also be a source of excitement, energy and power. The fountains used to generate this kind of atmosphere utilize large moving bodies of water that create a white water appearance and loud sound emissions. Fountains are also used for entertainment by sequencing nozzles to create unique water formations that can be choreographed to music.
A Harmonious Atmosphere
Water features also can be used to harmonize with the surrounding environment. Cascading water falls, streams, and babbling brooks in a landscaped area ties all elements of nature together.
